*Question of the Day: Fred Savage, Neil Patrick Harris or Kirk Cameron: who would you rather see sit in with the Sixers?
(To weigh in on the question of the day, go to our Facebook or Twitter page)
It's not every day that one gets an award for doing their job, but SK6ERS were just recognized as Entertainers of the Year by Armed Forces Entertainment. The guys are working on plans to get back overseas in 2011 and are thrilled to be given a shout out for doing something they so thoroughly enjoyed.
TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME
Speaking of honoring our service men and women, SK6ERS sang the National Anthem at Citi Field before the New York Mets vs. Houston Astros game this past Saturday. Our drummer Boots is a die-hard fan as was evidenced by the huge grin on his face the whole time the band was on the field.
HALF TIME SHENANIGANS
And speaking of fields, this coming Saturday the UMass Minutemen football game's half time show will feature Stephen Kellogg and The Sixers. Nothing like rocking the stands of their alma mater to get the juices flowing as they prepare to kick off of their Amazing Fall Tour which begins September 7th in Spokane, WA!!
THE AMAZING FALL TOUR
All the details for the Amazing Fall Tour, including links to purchase tickets, can be found at the bottom of this newsletter. One "amazing" aspect of this tour is going to be the support acts - Audra Mae (who recently had a song of hers recorded by Susan Boyle), The Small Ponds (featuring Caitlin Cary of Whiskeytown), Sara Watkins (formerly of Nickel Creek), Aslyn (who just recorded a duet with country star Zac Brown) and Roy Jay (the king of the flip-flop nation himself). These are some heavy hitters you won't want to miss.
Also all Amazing Fall Tour dates will include pre-show meet & greet and two song acoustic set for Sixertown members. Sixertown is the brand-new fan club for Stephen Kellogg and The Sixers. In addition to the acoustic set, your membership includes a VIP Laminate, an exclusive Sixertown T-shirt, free tracks emailed to you monthly and VIP seating (where available). Sign up now and your membership will be good through the end of 2011. To join, impress your date or for more details please visit our online store at sk6ersmerch.com.
LIVE RECORD OUT NOW
Live From The Heart, the new album capturing the band's 1000th show is now available on CD. This double-disc collection features more than two hours of music, several special guest appearances, a full listing of all 1000 shows and a 20 page booklet full of rare photos. The collector's edition CD set is available only at SK6ERS concerts.
Enjoy these final dog days of summer.
As always, the boys appreciate your support and look forward to playing for you out on the road...
Don't miss Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers this Saturday when they sing the National Anthem at Citi Field prior to the start of the New York Mets game.
The following Saturday, September 4th, The Sixers will be singing "Shady Esperanto and the Young Hearts" at Warren P. McGuirk Stadium during the half time show for the UMass Minutemen opening day football game.
Our resident director extraordinaire, Boots Factor, has put together another stunning installment to the SK6ERS video collection. Here the boys are preparing for the Ships and Dip 4 Cruise. Enjoy!
