Our Fondest Memories Of Making The Bear (Goose Style)
Welcome to another edition of Memories Of Making The Bear... Last week you heard about Stephen's fondest memories of making All Part Of The Show and frolicking through New York City during a snowstorm. This week, I bring you THE GOOOOSE.
Hello all,
My name is Kit Karlson. Sometimes people call me "The Goose." I like those people a lot. I play tuba in SK6ERS. I have two favorite memories from "The Bear." I have aptly titled the first memory, "What does a bear wear?" While I am not sure what a bear wears, I do know that when we recorded the title track from our forthcoming album, I was wearing nothing but boxer shorts. Don't worry ladies and gents, The Goose is pretty in shape these days, so just imagine a topless _____ (insert your favorite male model). Well, actually in Jan. when we recorded The Bear, I was pretty out of shape. So scratch that thought and insert Chris Farley from the SNL dance-off skit with Patrick Swayze. Anyway, I digress... So Boots, SK, and I were all in a little house in Maine on a snowy, wintery day. We weren't quite getting the right take, so our producer suggested that we take a lap around the building. When that wasn't enough to get my heart going, I decided to take a lap around the house in nothing but my boxer shorts. Upon arriving back in the studio, we sat down and nailed the track. It sounded so good to us, we eventually made it the title track on the album. So, what does a bear wear? I guess he wears whatever it takes to make it happen.
My second memory is aptly titled, "Serena Ryder is the most amazing person in the world." Serena sings with SK on the track 'See Yourself.' She came in one night and absolutely blew us away. She might have sung the track twice, but she certainly didn't need to. From the moment she started singing it was absolute magic. Her voice is one of my favorite parts of the record. Thank you Serena!
Boom Roasted,
The Goose
